The competition in late night television just got a lot sharper! On last nights Jimmy Kimmel Live – the second at 1135p – it was revealed that normally on Wednesdays at 1130p, Will ferrel and Ryan Gosling hold their QVC knife show “Knife Guys” in the El Capitan Theater before Kimmel goes on at midnight. The duo claim to Jimmy that there is a “sign up sheet” for the historical venue and in the JKL move to the new time slot, Jimmy was simply unaware of the overlap. After a bit of back and forth, Kimmel allows the Knife Guys to proceed with their show as Ferrell shows off what the “stabmaster” blade can do, cutting through a number of soft objects; balloons, cottage cheese, chocolate milk et al. It is after this exhaustive demonstration that Will cuts himself – “a beautiful cut” that you wouldn’t get with a “store bought knife” – and Gosling blames Kimmels “energy” for the blunder. Ferrell leaves in a hermal daze blaming “Timmy” and Gosling quickly follows. Watch the video below.
Ferrell can just do no wrong in these internet sketch videos and Gosling’s participation is fun to see. Ultimately we find this to be just another great celebrity sketch in the already lengthy celebrity sketch resume of the JKL writing staff and we are looking forward to more hijinks like this at the earlier time!
Side note, we find it comical that with the Stabmaster 2200, it is actually 11 cents cheaper if you go with the payment plan. Hopefully the savvy investor noticed that too!
What do you guys think of the bit? Funny or lame? Do you guys like Jimmy’s new set? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
