In just under a week, the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers’ football season starts at home against UNLV. As excited as many of you – and us – are, no one is more amped than the team’s mascot Goldy Gopher.
Apparently disappointed in the superhero blockbuster movies this summer – and this was probably made even prior to the Ben Affleck as Batman announcement – the hilarious rodent released a montage of his alter ego Super Goldy yesterday.
In the video Goldy dons his signature cape and is seen perched a top TCF Bank Stadium keeping a watchful eye as well as practicing some push ups, and doing some sprints among other things. Have a look via Goldy’s awesome YouTube channel below —
Plain and simple, it’s vignettes – and other things – like this that make it easy for us to say we have the best mascot in the country. Not that he hasn’t already proved that, winning two National Championships in three years and all, but you get our point …
Anyway, do those push ups son, we’re
hopefully going to score some points this year!
